Scope:
Mechanical engineering is a diverse course that derives its breadth from the need to design and manufacture everything from small individual parts to large systems. It plays a central role in such industries as automotive, aerospace, biotechnology (implants, prosthetic devices, fluidic systems for pharmaceutical industries), computers and electronics (disk drives, printers, cooling systems, semiconductor tools), micro electro mechanical systems, or MEMS, energy conversion, environmental control, automation, manufacturing process. This field has continually evolved to incorporate advancements in technology, and today’s developments in such fields as composites, mechatronics, and nanotechnology.
Apart from the class rooms, we motivate the students to visit the various industries related to various fields of the department. It helps the students to understand the concept in technical aspects for the forthcoming semesters. It provides the concept of subjects & fast growing technologies in future trends.
This department is currently running a 4 year program in Mechanical Engineering leading to the award of the degree of Bachelor of Engineering and one full-time Post graduate programs in Thermal Engineering.
ELECTRONICS & COMMUNICATION ENGINEERING
Introduction:
Started in the year 1998, the department holds the pride of accreditation awarded by NBA. This department boasts by well experienced and technically excelling faculty, to impart knowledge and skills to inculcate the professional responsibilities to play leadership role along their diverse career paths and develop capability to utilize engineering skills in industry, research centers, and national laboratories and entrepreneurship. The sincere effort of our faculty to motivate the students has produced remarkable achievements in Co-curricular and Extra-curricular activities.
The Department is adequately staffed with faculty strength of 19 members with Ph.D., PG and UG Qualification, meeting the AICTE norm. In addition, the Department is supported by four non-teaching staff members. The department has number of well equipped labs and provides excellent facilities for teaching learning process. The student association of our department periodically organizes seminars, symposium, conferences, workshop and guest lectures for the benefit of students and also conducts weekly seminar classes by the students.
The ECE department has very good infrastructure facilities. The department has well-equipped laboratories like Communications lab, Electronics lab, Micro Processor lab, DSP lab, Microwave lab, Optical communication lab, Networks lab and VLSI lab, Embedded Lab.

COMPUTER SCIENCE & ENGINEERING
The Department of Computer Science & Engineering was started in the year 1998. The is intake of 120 students in UG and 18 students in PG. The department aims to impart high quality education to students as well to carry out at the cutting edge of technology research in various disciplines of Computer Science and Engineering. The Department focuses on preparing the students for wide range of IT careers equipping them with unique enriching experience of molding tomorrow's technocrats with high caliber and commitment.
The department has highly qualified and experienced faculty members with doctoral degrees in various fields of computer science from well known institutes and Universities, while some faculty members are pursuing their research degrees using “OXFORD RESEARCH CENTRE” WITH APPLE COMPUTERS. In the academic year the department has produced more than 10 research papers which have been published in various International and National Conferences. All the faculty members constantly strive to be abreast of rapid advances in the field by frequently involving in regular industry-academia interaction. . The department also conducts regular meetings addressed by industrial experts for the benefit of students. Conferences and workshops are conducted in specific areas through Video - Conferencing to keep the students and faculty track of technological developments. 24hrs 4Mbps Internet facility is provided for our students. The department has full equipped labs and sophisticated equipments.
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
In the recent year, the challenges before the educational institutes are manifold. It will have to cope with fast changes in technology simultaneously, training more students with adequate information’s with less availability of financial support for expansion and excellence. To meet these challenges, the college introduced a 4 year B.Tech., Course in Information Technology in the year 2001 with an intake of 30 students. The department has grown in strength over the years in terms of Infrastructure facilities, Technical expertise, Faculty Strength, Modern Teaching Aids, Browsing facilities. The department has qualified and experienced faculty members and technically competent supporting staff on its rolls who can provide consultancy in the following areas such as Programming languages and Paradigms, Data Mining, Image Processing, Advanced architecture, Cryptography, Software performance Engineering, Wireless LAN and Compiler Design. The department also uses modern aids scanner, inkjet printer, laser printer, dot matrix printer, LCD, OHP & internet for the benefit of the Students.
Association of IT - Merit been active for several years. The students conduct Techno cultural fest every year. The department has published many International & National papers. This course also develops the knowledge and skills in the area of Data structures, Object Oriented Programming languages, Relational Database Management Systems, Embedded Systems, Artificial Intelligence, etc., This branch of engineering produces engineers who can serve in the industries like software development, Automobile Industries, Bio - Medical Companies, Electrical & Electronics Companies, Pharmaceutical Companies and Research / Teaching. Companies such as Infosys, TCS, CTS, Wipro, and Satyam Comp, IBM, Honeywell, I-flex, Intel, Yahoo, Oracle, Sify, National Instruments, and Motorola have receipted our students.
CIVIL ENGINEERING
The department of Civil Engineering was established during the year 2004 - 2005. The intake is 30. The department is constantly being strengthened by the intake of qualified and experienced teaching faculty. The department of Civil Engineering has professionally equipped laboratories like, Strength of Material Lab, Survey Lab, Environmental Engineering Lab, Hydraulics Lab, and Soil Engineering Lab. Major equipments like UTM 400 KN Capacity, Compression Testing Machine, Hardness Testing Machine, Impact Testing Machine, Wood Testing Machine are the highlights of the department. Consultancy work is being taken with various Government and Private construction companies in testing materials like Cement, Bricks, Coarse aggregate and Rebar. Students are being motivated in presenting papers on various topics at various Colleges and Universities. In-plant training is arranged during vacation period in construction industries.
Special Guest lectures are arranged in each semester on various topics beneficial to the students, Job oriented value added course like ARCHICAD, STAADPro, advanced AutoCAD are being planned for the students. Staff members are motivated to attend Faculty Development Programme on various subject related topics organized in other Engineering Colleges like NIT and many other Universities.
ELECTRICAL & ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING
Electrical and Electronic Engineering is an exciting and dynamic field. Electrical engineers are responsible for the generation, transfer and conversion of electrical power, while electronic engineers are concerned with the transfer of information using radio waves, the design of electronic circuits, the design of computer systems and the development of control systems such as aircraft autopilots. These sought-after engineers can look forward to a rewarding and respected career.

Electrical energy systems - encompass the study and design of electrical transmission systems, electrical machines and variable speed drives; high power electronic converters and high voltage engineering. Power generation from renewable resources, such as wind and sun, and electrical transport, such as battery electrical vehicles, are of growing importance in the electrical engineering field and postgraduate studies.
Electronics - the study of components and circuits used to construct items such as audio amplifiers, radio transmitters and computer circuits. Students learn about elementary electrical components, transistors, integrated circuits, and computer circuitry and power electronics. The field specializes in areas such as microwave electronics, superconducting electronics, ultra-high speed electronics and the prevention of electromagnetic interference between devices.
MASTER OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION
The Department of Management Studies, being the youngest in the college, was established in the year 2008. The campus provides an ideal environment for young minds to explore new knowledge, encourage in lateral and creative thinking. It aims at providing education, training and development. The department is focusing its resources exclusively on the budding managers.
The main aim of the department is to enrich the knowledge to create and equip prospective managerial skills, leadership skills, lateral thinking, problem solving skills, communication skill, decision making skills, listening skills, commitment to the truth, administrative and financial skills thus abetting successful entrepreneurs and corporate heads of tomorrow.
